KMF Celebrations

Independent Wedding Celebrant

Congratulations! You're Getting Married

Now the fun begins, who are you going to invite? Are you having best men, women? If so who? Is the venue going to be a classic manor house or a funky outdoor ‘rustic’ event with a marquee and straw bales? Will you be Mr and Mrs, Mrs and Mrs or Mr and Mr? What’s the budget? OMG the list feels endless!!!

And breathe ………….

All of that will come together, either with the help of friends and family or a ‘wedding planner’!

My questions to you are:

  1. What special words do you want to share with the world, to show your love for each other?
  2. What sort of service do you want?”

At ‘KMF Celebrations’ we will officiate your service using your own special words and vows. We will design and write the service together. It will be bespoke and unlike anyone else’s wedding, you can add any extras (listed below) to give it that wow factor too!

We are not restricted to venue either we can perform the service anywhere you want to get married – this ranges from your back garden, beach, a river side to a sacred woodland area – basically anywhere special to you both.

If you marry in a registry office or church you are required to say pre-scripted words and vows

So, what now?

If you would like to have a no obligation meeting, to discuss the service please contact me, details below.

At the meeting we will discuss what is available to you, what poems, readings and music you would like (plus any family or friends you would like to read them) your love story, any special extras you would like included, how you would like your service to run. I will help to guide you and write the service with you.

On the day you will be my only clients and I will officiate the service and be available to support you until it’s party time!

Fun Extra’s to be considered (to give it that ‘wow’ factor)

  1. Partial handfasting! – A Celtic tradition where your hands are joined together during the ceremony
  2. Tying the knot! A keep sake to take away and frame
  3. Toast – ‘The Loving cup’ – you both drink from the same cup
  4. Unity candle – using unique candles designed especially for you
  5. Sand ceremony – the blending of sands, which can involve children and other family members
  6. ‘Jumping the broomstick’ – symbolises jumping together into your new life together – the broom will be decorated with your colours, then it’s yours to keep!

There are other ideas which we will keep a secret – to surprise the congregation on the day!

The Legal bit:

Though this service will be bespoke, relaxing, individual and unique it is not a legal marriage.

You will also need to complete the paperwork at your local registry office, the cost is around £50 and most couples do it in secret a couple of weeks before, saving the unique ceremony for the wedding day.

What you need to do.

  1. Contact your local register office and ask to book a ‘simple service’ which will consist of yourself, your partner and 2 witnesses. You will need to give 28 days notice
  2. Attend and register your marriage, you will be issued with a Marriage certificate
  3. Enjoy your wedding day with family and friends with a service we have designed together to reflect exactly what you both want!

Costings (it seems vulgar to put a price on love but the words will last longer than the flowers…)

£650

This includes

  • Our initial meeting
  • writing your service and love story, helping you to choose poems and or readings and most importantly helping you with your vows (if you need any advice?)
